Algae, Lichen, Moss & Mould Removal/Cleaning Ipswich Suffolk

Many surfaces internally and externally of your property can be affected by several environmental factors, which lead to organic infections such as algae, lichen, moss and black mould etc. This happens because the surfaces are porous and allow organic infections to enter them then multiply. The first sign of this is usually on the surface when it becomes green, black or has black/white spots, and you may have tried to clean the affected surface yourself without the desired results, or the problem came back. Eventually if affected surfaces aren't cleaned, it can result in permanent unsightly staining especially for render and internal surfaces e.g. bathroom and kitchen etc.  

The traditional solution to removing organic infectants in exterior surfaces is to use aggressive pressure washing, and whilst this does give an instant result, it doesn't always deal with the problem deep down only at surface level, furthermore it's not suitable for internal applications e.g. a wall with black mould, futhermore pressure washing isn't very environmentally friendly, can be noisey and you need adequate drainage to avoid any risk of flooding an area. The nature of pressure washing means that there is a potential risk of damaging the surface, and it can become more porous e.g. a concrete path, which will cause issues in the future.

For external surfaces  we use a process known as softwashing. It was originally developed in the U.S to clean roofs without causing any damage, and remove any organic contaminants at the same time, however, it's suitable for cleaning a wide range of materials both internally and externally, and where it's not suitable, then a specialist cleaning solution would be used instead. We use gentle brushes and sprays to apply the softwash solution, then allow it to work and afterwards rinse, the solution can be brushed on or sprayed depending on the surface being cleaned and once the cleaning has been completed a preventative solution can also be applied which will aid in the cleaning process and also provider further protection this is great for roofs, render and concrete paths etc. When it comes to cleaning areas that are high up e.g. roof or render, we use extendable poles and work safely at ground level without the need for ladders, ensuring there is no risk of damage to your property. 

However for internal surfaces such as bathrooms and kitchens etc, we use a range of specialised mould removal chemicals and associated equipment as this requires a different approach to softwashing. Furthermore we also offer a silicone removal and resealing service, this helps to remove stubborn mould and improves the look of affected areas.
